PRIMITIVE MAN

The second studio album from ICEHOUSE was introduced to fans in September of 1982. The songs on Primitive Man took the listener through multiple stories and soundscapes.  From the first long note of “Great Southern Land” suggesting a vast horizon, to the international hit “Hey, Little Girl” and its sad tale of lost love, to “Street Cafe” with the many people coming and going, Primitive Man became beloved by ICEHOUSE fans the world over.

In particular, “Great Southern Land” has become a major milestone in ICEHOUSE’S history, with many fans calling it Australia’s unofficial national anthem.
